I’ve been googling this subject for a bit, and even though its fairly simple, I stumbled upon multiple doubts and websites that didn’t seem trustworthy. I decided to dedicate a small blog to it, hopefully, this will help. 🙂
First of all, a Cambodian tourist visa can be gotten by almost everyone travelling from a safe country, including the European Union, the US and Australia. Tourists should apply for a 30-day visa, which can be extended for another 30 days, however, this is not possible online.
Get your visa on the official website of the Foreign Affairs Services, here.
To apply, make sure to have:
– A valid passport (and an online version of it, as you need to upload it)
– A foto of you (you also need to upload it)
– A credit card to pay
On the website, you will have to fill in a form and validate by paying $36 (by credit card).
I read everywhere that this application could take up to three days, so I guess you should count on this, to be better safe than sorry. However, we applied on a Sunday afternoon and got our visa (by mail to print) within one hour!
Overall the process doesn’t take a lot of time, just make sure to fill in the good date of arrival: take into account that your day of arrival in Cambodia might not be the same as your departure date in Europe.
After that, print your visa and you’re good to go! 🙂
